Welcome to Think Maths

Think Maths visit schools to run workshops and give talks for a wide range of ages and abilities.

Our sessions are interactive, engaging and cover mathematical content which will grab the attention of students and inspire them to get excited about maths. We show students the wider world of maths beyond school while giving them a chance to develop invaluable mathematical thinking skills. Our aim is to inspire students to be more motivated in normal lessons.

See our sessions page for more details of our schools visits. NOTE: We are now also taking bookings for virtual talks. See the sessions page for more details.

We also make free resources for teachers – have a look at our video resources page and our other resources page.

Think Maths was founded by Matt Parker, the Stand-Up Mathematician.

As a former teacher Matt started Think Maths to go into schools and deliver engaging talks. Matt is now a YouTuber with more than a million subscribers and a best-selling maths author.

Think Maths is now run by Zoe Griffiths. Zoe worked on Think Maths with Matt since 2017. Matt is no longer able to do schools work but has passed on all the talks and ideas to Zoe so the mathematical fun can continue!

Like Matt, Zoe started out as a classroom maths teacher and is now an experienced maths speaker, giving talks at schools in the UK and internationally, at large scale events such as Maths Inspiration, teacher conferences, science festivals and comedy nights. Zoe was recently featured on the YouTube channel Numberphile.

Zoe is joined by mathematician and maths communicator Sophie Maclean and maths educator and speaker Nicole Cozens, who both deliver talks and workshops for Think Maths.

Sophie is studying for a PhD in Mathematics and has spoken at events such as Maths Inspiration.

Nicole is an experienced maths teacher, now working in enrichment at MEI and sharing her love of maths (and space!) at events such as Maths in Action.
